Chelsea FC defender Andreas Christensen has joined Borussia Monchengladbach on a two-year loan after agreeing to sign a new five-year contract at Stamford Bridge. Andreas Christensen, who signed for Chelsea FC from Danish side Brøndby IF at the age of 16, is loaned out so that he can potentially play more minutes of first-team football next season with Borussian Monchengladbach. He will spend the next two seasons in Germany’s top flight with Gladbach, who have qualified for the Champions League after finishing third in the Bundesliga behind Bayern Munich and Wolfsburg. Chelsea FC do hold an option to end the loan after a year should they see fit.
