Chelsea winger Andre Schurrle could be on his way out from the club after failing to get regular game time according to the independent. Schurrle has appeared 22 times for Chelsea this season but hasn’t completed a full game even once in the Premier League. The German has been a regular only in the Capital One Cup after featuring in three games before being deemed unfit to face Liverpool last week due to an illness. Manager Jose Mourinho has preferred the likes of Eden Hazard, Oscar and Willian ahead of Schurrle and the trio have often produced the goods which has made it difficult for Schurrle. With four more days to go before the transfer window closes, the 24-year old might be angling for a move if he feels he won’t be able to challenge the first team regulars in the remainder of the season. Reports have emerged that Bundesliga side Wolfsburg are looking to sign the attacker for a fee of […]

Chelsea are preparing a £26.8m move for Fiorentina’s Juan Cuadrado Chelsea are launching a bid to sign Juan Cuadrado from Fiorentina as they anticipate losing either Andre Schurrle or Mohamed Salah. Cuadrado, a Colombia international winger, has a release clause of £26.8million and Fiorentina do not wish to negotiate for less. Jose Mourinho knows Schurrle and Salah both want to leave as they grow frustrated with their lack of regular game time but he will not authorise the sales without bringing another player in. Schurrle is wanted by Wolfsburg and is keen to leave Chelsea. Salah has also been linked with a move away from the club with Roma and Inter Milan both interested. Fiorentina have cut short the loan of Chelsea’s Marko Marin, who joined Anderlecht on Tuesday, and have asked about Salah themselves though the Egyptian favours a move to Roma. Chelsea are also awaiting a £23million offer from Wolfsburg for Schurrle but are holding out for a […]

Wolfsburg have made a €30m bid for Chelsea forward Andre Schurrle. Jose Mourinho has underlined that the German international needs to improve his physical shape and the striker has been placed on a fitness program to help cope with the rigours of the Premier League. World Cup winner Andre Schurrle has seen his opportunities limited this season, having started just five Premier League games. The 24-year-old suffered with a mystery illness early in the season which he believed contributed to his poor form and he remained a peripheral figure over the festive period. In his last two appearances for Chelsea, against Southampton on 28 December and in the FA Cup third-round victory over Watford, Mourinho opted to take him off at half-time. Ambitious Wolfsburg sense a deal can be done and want to test the Premier League leaders resolve. They believe Schurrle, who joined for £18m from Bayer Leverkusen in 2013, is keen to move. After having landed the important […]

Andre Schürrle reported for Chelsea’s pre-season training in the summer of 2014 having just experienced the single greatest moment in his football career – winning the FIFA World Cup in Brazil with the German national team. In a team packed with stars from Europe’s top clubs – including the likes of Manuel Neuer, Phillip Lahm, Mats Hümmels, Toni Kroos and Thomas Müller – Schürrle managed to stand out, making a telling contribution to Germany’s successful campaign with 3 goals and crucially, the assist for Mario Götze’s strike that ultimately clinched the title for Die Mannschaft.  After such a successful World Cup, it appeared as though the Chelsea midfielder would make the natural progression from the periphery of the Blues’ first team to the starting XI. Unfortunately for Schürrle, things have not quite gone to plan so far this season. A promising start to the 2014-2015 campaign has fizzled out quickly, with the German international finding himself on the bench and […]
