New contract for Ronaldo imminent

Journalist Guillem Balague has revealed a new contract extension has been agreed upon by Cristiano Ronaldo and the club, with only the announcement pending as President Florentino Perez waits for the right time to make it official as fresh Presidential elections are set to take place at the club in February 2017.

The agreement for the contract is said to have been reached months back, though the exact period of extension is not clear yet. Ronaldo’s contract was set to end in June, 2018.

Correio da Manha reports 21-year-old winger Gelson Martins’ recent form, two goals and six assists in seven league matches this season, has attracted the attentions of the Los Blancos, with the Madrid based club ready to send scouts to watch the young Portuguese international in action on Tuesday night against Borussia Dortmund in Champions League.

Martins, who earns a relatively meagre €10,000 a week, is said to be in negotiation with Sporting over a new contract which will see his wages multiply by five as well as a release clause being fixed at €60 million, although a move could still well be on the cards with arch rival Barcelona and English giants Manchester United also reportedly interested in the talented winger.

BVB’s Director willing to talk regarding star striker with Real Madrid

Borussia Dortmund’s General director, Hans-Joachim Watzke has admitted they might be forced to talk if defending Champions League winner, Real Madrid come calling for striker Pierre-Emerick Aubemeyang, though he later clarified he hasn’t seen any signs of the striker wanting to leave and the striker has a long contract running till 2020 with the club.

Aubamayeng has previously expressed his desire to play for Real Madrid one day, stating that it’s the club of his heart.

Chelsea’s Charly Musonda’s fanboy moment with Cristiano Ronaldo

Real Madrid thrashed Real Betis 6-1 at the weekend, but the hammering didn’t seem to stop Chelsea loanee’s at the Sevilla based club to wait for his idol, Cristiano Ronaldo, for almost 20 minutes after the game ended.

Naturally, the Real Betis’ fans were unhappy with the images, but one would give the young star a pass considering it was his 20th birthday and there could be no better gift than meeting his idol.

James Rodriguez back for Tuesday’s Champions League clash

Manager Zidane has been handed a boost for their Champions League tie against Legia Warsaw on Tuesday night after Colombian James Rodriguez recovered from his muscle problem sustained just before the international break which prevented him from travelling to Real Betis at the weekend.

The 25-year-old does seem eager to be involved with the team again after coming back, scoring this wonderful goal in training in the buildup to their game.

Ronaldo on brink of European record

The Los Blancos’ all time top-scorer is on the brink of breaking yet another record in a career filled with milestones. Ronaldo, who has 98 goals in the European competition can become the first player to reach a century of goals in Europe with a brace when Real Madrid take on Legia Warsaw on Tuesday night. The next best on the list? Lionel Messi with 89 goals.
