Wantaway Tottenham Hotspur superstar, who is linked to Manchester City and Chelsea, would be the perfect fit for Liverpool according to Danny Mills.
Speaking on talkSPORT, as relayed by the Liverpool Echo, former Leeds United footballer turned pundit, Danny Mills claimed that Tottenham Hotspur superstar Harry Kane would be the perfect fit for Liverpool.
Kane, who has been with Tottenham all his career, wants his way out of the club this summer as he looks to challenge for and win trophies. The 27-year-old England captain has been attracting serious interest from reigning Premier League champions Manchester City while Chelsea have also been linked with a move for him.
However, Mills is of the opinion that Kane would be a much better fit at Liverpool than at either of the aforementioned clubs. The pundit’s comments come amid speculations surrounding the future of current No.9 Roberto Firmino, who has struggled to produce the goods in front of goal of late.
“They should look to sign an out-and-out centre-forward. Kane would be them perfectly with the way he plays in that slightly deeper role, the nine-and-a-half position, where he drops in from time to time. If you had Mane going down one side, Salah going down the other, Kane in the middle – the chances he would create for them and himself would be perfect,” Mills said.
“He’s not going there, I don’t think. But it would be the perfect fit. Son is a fantastic player, but playing with two quality players either side of him, with Jota there as well, that would be unbelievable. In terms of a fit, that’s the best fit. Do I think he’ll go there? No.”
Despite Mills’ comments, Liverpool, at the moment, are not linked with a move for Kane. Furthermore, the Tottenham Hotspur superstar’s £150 million price tag would make it difficult for the Reds to launch a swoop for the England captain.
Manchester City seem the likeliest of the teams who can afford to pay such a sum for the 27-year-old. But with the Cityzens also angling for a move to sign Jack Grealish, it remains to be seen if they are able to fund two big-money transfers this summer.
