Jamie O’Hara has said that the Tottenham attacking unit still trumps that of Manchester United, despite the arrival of Jadon Sancho this summer.

Speaking on a segment on talkSPORT, Jamie O’Hara has made some tall claims about the level of the Manchester United attack. The former Tottenham midfielder has claimed that Spurs’ attacking unit remains better than United’s despite the arrival of Jadon Sancho.

Manchester United ended a long-drawn out transfer saga this month by confirming the arrival of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund. The English international is tipped to be a solution for one of the Red Devils’ major problem area in recent years by slotting in on the right wing.

The addition of a player like Sancho, who contributes heavily with both goals and assists, has surely elevated the level of the Manchester United attack. However, according to ex-Tottenham midfielder Jamie O’Hara, United’s front-line is still inferior to those at Liverpool, Manchester City and even Spurs.

Speaking on talkSPORT, O’Hara said, “Liverpool have the best front-three in the Premier League – Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah. That’s better than Man United’s, for me. Not based on last season, just based on talent and what they can produce when they’re at their best.”

“I’d also argue Man City, if they line up with Phil Foden, Riyad Mahrez and Kevin De Bruyne as a false-nine, that’s probably better than Manchester United’s, too. City do need to sign a new striker, but KDB is brilliant when he plays there. If it’s a choice between Gabriel Jesus and Cavani, you’d have to say Cavani, but if you’re talking Foden or Rashford, you’d say Foden.”

“In my opinion, I think Spurs’ front-three at their best is still better than that Manchester United front-three.” Listening to this, talkSPORT presenter Andy Goldstein quizzed back at O’Hara, saying, “So what, Son, Kane and Moura is better than Rashford, Cavani and Sancho?”

O’Hara did not backtrack on his original remarks, replying with a simple, “Yeah,” before adding, “Son is better than Rashford, Kane is better than Cavani, and OK Moura is not better than Sancho… But Moura had a great finish to last season and does produce at the top level.”

Such comments do come as a surprise, but the season ahead will provide a better indicator as to whether Manchester United are indeed inferior to Liverpool, Manchester City as well as Tottenham when it comes to their respective attacking units. The addition of Sancho does change things for them for the better, though.
