Sadio Mane has all but confirmed a summer exit from Liverpool with his latest comments on his Anfield future.

Liverpool star Sadio Mane has dropped a major hint over his future with the English giants, claiming ‘I will do what they want’ referring to the Senegal fans who want the forward to leave the Reds. Mane made the comments during the pre-match conference for Senegal’s upcoming encounter against Benin.

Mane has just a year remaining on his Liverpool contract. Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has claimed the 30-year-old has his heart set on a move away from Anfield in search of new challenges. Bayern Munich are said to be closing in on the winger’s signature, while Real Madrid are also interested in his services.

When asked about the press to comment on his Liverpool future, Mane revealed that he is aware ‘between 60 to 70 per cent of Senegalese fans’ want him to leave Liverpool. He used it as the reason to then reveal that he will do what the majority of his fans in Senegal want, hinting that an exit is close.

He stopped short of naming his next destination but said ‘we will see soon’, pointing out that an official announcement could be in the making.

“Like everyone else, I’m on social media and I see the comments,” Mane commented (h/t GOAL). “Isn’t it between 60 to 70 per cent of Senegalese that want me to leave Liverpool? I will do what they want. We will see soon! Don’t be in a hurry because we’ll see this together.”

Mane has spent six seasons with Liverpool since joining them from Southampton in 2016. He has made 269 appearances for them, scoring 120 and assisting 48 goals. The 2021/22 term was one of his best for the Reds. He finished with 23 goals across competitions, helping Liverpool win the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup.

In his six-year stint with the Reds, Mane has won a Premier League, and a UEFA Champions League title as well. He also added the FA Cup and the League Cup to his trophy haul this past season, while he has won the Premier League Golden Boot in the 2018/19 season.

As things stand, it seems pretty much certain that Mane will be on his way out of Anfield in the summer, with Bayern Munich emerging as the likeliest destination for the Senegalese speedster.
