Ray Parlour has urged Arsenal to sign Marcus Rashford in the summer, suggesting the Manchester United man is perfect for a problem position at the Emirates.

Amid all the chaos at Chelsea, another major news story emerged in the past week. Reports suggest Marcus Rashford is unhappy at Manchester United due to his reduced playing time. The England international is now considering quitting Manchester United in the summer, with his deal expiring in 2023.

Ralf Rangnick has left him out of the starting lineup in recent weeks, with the forward reduced to making brief appearances off the bench. Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand recently hit out at Rashford and suggested it would be terrible for the club to let the forward leave. Meanwhile, it could be a big boost for clubs considering signing the English forward in the summer.

As soon as the news emerged of Rashford’s uncertain future, many Premier League sides expressed their interest in the attacker. Arsenal are among those clubs, with Mikel Arteta set to sign a new forward in the summer.

Arsenal legend Ray Parlour has now insisted that the north Londoners should consider the opportunity and make a move for the Manchester United forward. Speaking on talkSPORT, Parlour urged Arsenal to move for Rashford in the summer.

Parlour said, “Marcus Rashford is going through a bit of a bad spell, but he’s a top player. I am sure lots of clubs will be enquiring about Marcus Rashford if he was available in the summer. Certainly Arsenal, I would love him to come to Arsenal.”

“That’s the position Arsenal need to look at this summer; it’s vital for the club. If Rashford’s available – and I don’t think he would be because United would be mad to sell him – but if he is available then Arsenal would definitely be interested.”

Considering Arteta is on the verge of deploying a more fluid system, Rashford certainly fits the bill. However, signing a player from Manchester United could prove difficult, especially if that club is Arsenal. It remains to be seen how much the forward may cost potential suitors if he is ready to leave Old Trafford in the summer.
