PSG superstar and Real Madrid transfer target Kylian Mbappe has claimed that he will not be leaving for Spain in the January transfer window.

Speaking in an interview, as relayed by Eurosport, Paris Saint-Germain and France forward Kylian Mbappe has ruled out a transfer to Real Madrid in the upcoming January window.

Mbappe has been with PSG since 2017 when he joined from fellow Ligue 1 outfit AS Monaco and has grown into one of the most devastating attackers in the game since. The 23-year-old, however, has been linked with an exit from the club since the summer transfer window, when he entered the final year of his contract.

Mbappe made a push to secure a move to Real Madrid in the summer, but one did not materialise. However, he continues to be linked with a free transfer switch to the Santiago Bernabeu when his contract with PSG runs out at the end of the season.

There have been suggestions that Real Madrid might opt to make a move for him midway through the season in January. But the French international has dismissed any such notions, indicating that he will not be leaving PSG next month.

“I only have in mind to win at Real Madrid in February and March. No, in January I will not go to Real Madrid. I am going to finish the season with PSG, 100 per cent. I want to give everything to win a great title for the fans, I think I deserve it,” he said.

When asked whether he felt any regrets over trying to force an exit in the summer, the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner added: “I was honest. I gave a feeling, I gave what I have in my heart. I’m happy to stay… it’s my city too. I’m French…I want to win everything this season.

“Paris is my city, I was born here and it is also where I grew up. Playing for PSG is an amazing feeling, as you have your family and friends alongside you. It’s something I always dreamed of. I just want to give my best and I will see what happens. All the respect I have for the people, for the club, my team-mates, and myself too, I have to give 100 per cent for the next six-and-a-half months.”

While a move to Real Madrid might not materialise in January, Los Blancos remain confident of securing his services in the summer transfer window on a free transfer. A prolific goalscorer, Mbappe pairing up with compatriot Karim Benzema at the Bernabeu would certainly elevate their attack to a whole new level.
