Piers Morgan was unhappy with Arsenal’s performances against Brentford, lambasting the club via some explosive tweets.

Arsenal endured the worst possible start to their Premier League campaign after losing to newly-promoted Brentford 2-0. Mikel Arteta was missing two of his important strikers, who pulled out late due to an illness, although many believed the team that took the pitch was more than capable of pulling off a result.

However, as Piers Morgan said, the Gunners were bullied by Brentford, who pressurised them to make mistakes which proved costly in the end. Sergi Canos opened the scoring with a brilliant strike at Bernd Leno’s near post, and Christian Norgaard added another with a header resulting from a bizarre throw-in.

Arsenal first worked hard to find an equaliser, and then after conceding the second, they were merely trying to score at least one to save some face. The Bees maintained their composure throughout 90-minutes to mark a fantastic return to top-flight football after 74 years.

For Arsenal, things will get even more problematic with a home game to Chelsea next and a trip to the Etihad to face Manchester City on the cards. As soon as the final whistle blew, Twitter was flooded with relentless criticism towards Arteta and the squad.

Morgan would not miss out and expressed his views on the social media platform, suggesting the whole experience was ‘pathetic’. The media personality and Gunners fan took to Twitter to express his views and lambasted the club for the miserable start.

Morgan seemingly began his tirade during mid-game, when probably all hope was possibly lost.

He said, “I have zero expectation of anything but continued mediocre mid-table misery from Arsenal this season, so at least it won’t be the hope that kills this time.”

“I can’t tell you how happy I am that Amazon are capturing the full horror of this Arsenal debacle on their All Or Nothing documentary cameras.”

Morgan then tweeted this after the final whistle, “This is pathetic. We’re being bullied off the park by a team of players who’ve never performed in the Premier League. Even by Arteta standards, a new low. I can’t do this for the next nine months.”

Morgan later added: “To be fair to Arteta, he did say Arsenal would surprise everyone this season – and they have: we’ve got worse.”

We wonder what Morgan’s reaction could be if Arsenal suffers more defeats in the tougher games ahead of them. Fans are calling for the club to ensure they add further signings before the end of the transfer window and at least stand a chance of having a better season than with the current set of players.
