In an interview with TVE, Pedri has iterated his desire to see Erling Haaland join Barcelona in the summer transfer window. The Spanish prodigy has said that the Borussia Dortmund goal machine has exceptional qualities, insisting that he wants to have the best players representing Barcelona.
Erling Haaland has become one of the hottest properties in the market since joining Borussia Dortmund from Red Bull Salzburg in January 2020. Over the last two years, the Norwegian striker has established himself as one of the best forwards in the Bundesliga, transforming into a goal machine.
The 21-year-old has an astonishing record of 80 goals and 21 assists in 82 appearances for Borussia Dortmund. But the Bundesliga giants are primed to lose the services of Haaland in the summer transfer window, with a slew of high profile clubs across Europe, including Barcelona, lining up to snap him up.
Barcelona will likely attempt to sign a striker in the summer transfer window amid growing uncertainties surrounding the future of Martin Braithwaite. The Dane is expected to seek regular game-time elsewhere by leaving Barcelona. In addition, Luuk de Jong will return to Sevilla for good after his loan deal ends.

The duo’s departure will leave Xavi Hernandez with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as the only natural striker at his disposal. Haaland is thus a viable target for Barcelona, although recent reports have claimed that the Catalan giants are out of the race to sign the youngster. But despite those suggestions, Pedri has iterated his desire to see the Borussia Dortmund goal machine join the Blaugrana.
“It’s a club thing, it’s a signing that the club makes. But Haaland has spectacular qualities, almost everything he touches goes inside. I hope he can come because I’ve always said it, I want the best at Barça.”
Pedri has been busy in the ongoing international break, speaking to various outlets on different topics. As for his desire to see Haaland represent Barcelona, it seems highly unlikely that the 21-year-old will join the Blaugrana, with Real Madrid and Manchester City the front-runners in his pursuit.
