Mino Raiola has dropped a huge hint that his client, Paul Pogba, could be headed for an exit from Manchester United when his contract expires in 2022.

Speaking to Rai Sport (h/t Goal), Mino Raiola, the agent of Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba, has given a huge hint about the Frenchman’s plans beyond the current season.

Pogba, who returned to Manchester United in the summer of 2016 from Juventus, is in the final year of his current contract with the Red Devils. While the club remain intent on handing him a new deal, there has been little indication from the player or his camp that they are open to signing an extension.

Pogba’s situation at Old Trafford has sparked interest from several top clubs across Europe. While the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner can be unstoppable on his day, he has been quite poor for the 20-time English champions after starting the new season like a house on fire.

His recent displays have seen him face a lot of flak from pundits, with former Manchester United midfield mainstay Paul Scholes also being critical of the Frenchman. Given the way things are, a contract extension looks a distant prospect, something that Raiola seemed to hint in his recent interview, during which he also took a shot at some ex-Manchester United stars.

“December is the month of dreams… and I can’t stop dreams, but it is better to not speak about Paul. If some former Man Utd players don’t speak about me and Paul, they won’t work anymore. It’s too early to speak about Paul Pogba’s contract. Let’s see what happens. I can’t stop anyone from dreaming,” Raiola said.

With Manchester United finding themselves under pressure of late, they need star players like Pogba to step up and deliver. However, the former Juventus superstar has been disappointing week after week. Now, with Raiola hinting that the 28-year-old could be on his way out, it will be interesting to see if the Red Devils make more efforts to tie him down to a new deal or are happy to let him go on a free transfer.

Real Madrid continue to be interested in his services while the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and former club Juventus also remain options at the Frenchman’s disposal. A clearer picture of his plans for the future could emerge over the next couple of months.
