Nuno Espirito Santo has warned suitors against the pursuit of Harry Kane, hinting at a possible stay for the England captain in North London.
Harry Kane’s future has been the subject of intense scrutiny ever since the striker hinted at a move elsewhere. He has been the star performer at Tottenham ever since his breakthrough in the side. Since then, Kane has become a great figure in the Premier League with his goalscoring ability and leadership.
However, the England captain has no trophies to show for his exploits, with Spurs consistently falling short of multiple honours. In recent years they have come short of winning the Premier League, the Champions League and the League Cup. Kane recently hinted he would have to leave the club in pursuit of trophies.
With Tottenham having tied him down to a long-term contract, Kane has close to three years left on his deal. Spurs are reluctant sellers and are demanding a fee in excess of £150 million from suitors. With a potential move to Chelsea categorically ruled out, the remaining interest comes from the Manchester giants.
Spurs have already rejected a £100 million offer from Man City, which included a player of choice, as the North London side seeks full cash value for Kane. However, in the last hours, new boss Nuno Espirito Santo, while speaking to the press, suggested Kane could remain at Tottenham.

Goal.com published some of his quotes while speaking to journalists. Santo was clear in his choice of words, wherein he wants his players to fully commit to the cause and be focused on the task ahead for next season.
Santo said, “Harry is our player. No need to talk about anything else. Period. Now is the time for Harry to recover his energy and rest. When he returns is the time to talk. He needs to prepare for what’s to come. I have no doubts in my mind. I have no doubts. What I wish is for Harry to recover well, to have a good rest, and when he arrives, he will feel that every one of us has to commit ourselves to become better.
“We are very ambitious, we are ambitious people, and we want to do it well, and [we have] no doubts on Harry on that,” he said.
While that quote might suggest something concrete, it is still believed that Kane will be interested in pursuit of trophies at either of the two Manchester clubs. City, in general, represents a side that could be perfect for his lofty ambitions, although United are not far away either.
His future realistically will depend on either Man United or Man City stepping up to convince Spurs into doing a deal. Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has built a reputation of hard negotiations, and it’s unlikely the Spurs’ supremo will decrease his demands. Alternatively, Spurs have begun strengthening their squad, but it may not be enough to please Kane and change his mind over moving away from the club.
