Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hinted Manchester United might have completed their summer transfer business with a week left in the window.

Manchester United fans will be pleased with their club’s transfer activity so far in the summer. The Premier League side have addressed some of the key personnel issues in the squad to bring in some exceptional players. With a week left in the transfer window, many expected the Red Devils to bring in at least one more player.

The club have managed to bring in three new players in the window. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wanted an experienced defender, an attacker and a backup goalkeeper. They were also expected to sign a new right-back to provide competition for Aaron Wan Bissaka and a central midfielder.

Manchester United did sign Raphael Varane from Real Madrid, Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund and landed Tom Heaton on a free transfer. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has now hinted the club may have finished their transfer business, although suggested if anything happens between now and 31st August, it would be a bonus.

The comments might be a bit of a surprise, considering Manchester United were heavily linked with a move for Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez. However, assuming Paul Pogba might stay put at Old Trafford, Saul might end up joining Chelsea.

The Manchester Evening News published some of Solskjaer’s quotes hinting that the club might have concluded their transfer activity. “I don’t think much is going to happen,” the manager told Norwegian journalist Arilas Ould-Saada.

“If something happens, it is a bonus. You never know what happens in the world of football. But we’ve had a very good window. I am happy with what we’ve done.”

In football, we can never predict an outcome until the final whistle, in this case, the shutting of the transfer window. Solskjaer would certainly love to bring in someone like Kieran Trippier or Saul before the end, but the market conditions sometimes prove difficult to make things happen.

However, the Norwegian would be happy with the business conducted so far, as he will look to better last season’s runners-up finish.
