Liverpool and Chelsea are linked with Colombian forward Luis Diaz, and his agent has responded to those rumours.

Luis Diaz has turned a corner this season after a sensational start to the campaign with Porto. The Colombian has scored 11 goals across all competition, primarily from a left midfield position, while also playing plenty of matches from a left-wing role.

His performances have continued to attract attention from a host of Premier League sides and La Liga. Chelsea and Liverpool are also credited with an interest, although Porto’s asking price for one of their prized asset might deter a move in the next window.

Diaz also fell on Real Madrid’s radar. However, it’s unlikely a move might transpire owing to the Spanish club’s financial commitments, as they are primed to sign the likes of Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe next summer. Things point towards a move to the Premier League, where many sides are willing to discuss a move.

Everton were heavily linked by the end of the summer window, although the Toffees may not have the financial firepower to complete a move. Eventually, it could be one of the big Premier League sides who can match Porto’s asking price that are likely to bring the Colombian to England.

His agent recently spoke to the media and responded to persistent rumours linking Diaz with a move to Liverpool or Chelsea. Fabrizio Romano tweeted comments from the agent via Radio Renascenca, who suggested those stories are normal considering the form of Diaz this season.

He said, “Chelsea and Liverpool interest rumours? It’s normal. If a player plays well, if he starts to stand out, if the majority considers him the best player in the Portuguese League… it’s normal”,

Portuguese clubs are never known to block or refute rumours of a move for some of their best performing players. They have always responded positively if their asking price is met in full or if clubs can come closer to it, as is their business model.

Diaz has been a revelation in recent seasons, as his stats prove his mettle of being a constant source of goals. Such a player is what Liverpool or Chelsea miss badly, especially the Reds, who lack quality cover in the attacking unit beyond Diogo Jota.
