Liverpool dropped further points with a home draw against West Ham as Loris Karius drew flak for yet another poor performance.

Karius was at the focal point of criticism, as Liverpool were held to a 2-2 draw by struggling West Ham despite a dominant performance that saw the Reds register close to 20 shots on goal. In the end they needed a fortunate Divock Origi equalizer to level things up, after Dimitri Payet and Michail Antonio wiped out Adam Lallana’s 5th minute lead for Liverpool.

Sunday’s was far from the best performances Anfield has seen. That said, there was a lot of promise in the build-up play on many occasions, but a lack of creativity and conversion in the final third hurt the Reds as they failed to capitalize on the possession they had.

Roberto Firmino had a rare off-day for Liverpool. Aside from being a part of the build-up for the first goal, there was little tangible contribution from the Brazilian. Joel Matip’s lapse of concentration meant Antonio was sent through to slot in West Ham’s second goal. All-in-all it was an ordinary day at the office, as the Reds seemed to lack the edge in attack to punish the Hammers.

Karius took the bulk of the blame from the Twitterati for yet another poor showing on Sunday. Following last week’s shocker against Bournemouth, the German keeper came in for a lot of criticism from the likes of Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville. And with the latter’s comments sparking a war of words between the two parties, one would have expected the 23-year-old to come out and redeem himself, but Sunday’s events showed no such sign.
