Liverpool managed a comfortable victory against Derby County at the Pride Park Stadium.

Jurgen Klopp’s men made easy work of Derby County in their EFL Cup third round tie, with goals from Coutinho, Klavan and Origi helping them to a comfortable 3-0 victory. The Reds dominated from start to finish and Nigel Pearson’s men just couldn’t handle the quality of this Reds side, which was without the likes of Wijnaldum and Sturridge.

Ragnar Klavan opened the scoring for Liverpool with a shot to the bottom right corner from close range. Left unmarked in the middle of the box, he made easy work of a Coutinho cross from a corner kick.

Liverpool doubled their lead 5 minutes into the start of the second half, Coutinho scoring after being put through by Firmino with a stunning pass. It was a clam finish into the bottom corner by the Brazilian.

His compatriot Firmino too was lauded by the fans for his great performance on the night.

Youngster Divock Origi has taken a special liking to the EFL, netting 5 goals in 6 appearances for Liverpool in the competition. The Belgian was put through by Coutinho, who smashed it in the top right from a difficult angle.

Loris Karius made his long awaited Liverpool debut and kept a clean sheet, but it was his one save against Darren Bent that led to the Liverpool faithful showering praise on him.
