Trent Alexander-Arnold named former Chelsea winger Eden Hazard as the toughest opponent he has played against so far in his Liverpool career.
Trent Alexander-Arnold has been playing for Liverpool since the 2016/17 season. The 2017/18 term was truly regarded as his breakthrough year, as he helped the club reach the Champions League final, where they lost to Real Madrid. However, the full-back was instrumental in the Reds winning the competition in the next season.
He also played a key role in ending a 30-year wait to win the Premier League with Liverpool in 2019/20. The England international is considered undroppable by Jurgen Klopp, as the full-back regularly terrorises defences with his attacking gameplay.
Alexander-Arnold has helped Liverpool to fourth place on the league table this season. A major creative force, he has provided seven assists in all competitions this term while scoring a solitary goal in the Premier League, a free-kick against West Ham United during their loss on Sunday.
Alexander-Arnold has been speaking with Prime Video Sport recently and was asked numerous questions regarding himself and his career. The focus here was one particular question when he was asked to name the toughest opponent he’s faced so far. He picked Real Madrid winger and Liverpool target Eden Hazard as the one, with Kevin De Bruyne coming a close second.

Alexander-Arnold said, “Eden Hazard, yeah. The best, by probably a little bit of a distance. Maybe De Bruyne, but directly against an opponent, it would have to be Hazard. Speed, agility, his awareness, his intelligence on and off the ball, unreal.”
The full-back played against the Belgian on numerous occasions when the latter was at Chelsea. However, Alexander-Arnold had to worry less about Hazard, who moved to Real Madrid at the end of the 2018/19 season.
Hazard could be looking to move away from Real Madrid after struggling during his time at Madrid. Liverpool have been credited with an interest, although Klopp might probably opt for a much younger option.
As for Alexander-Arnold, he is away with England for the current round of international matches. Hopefully, after the break, he will be ready to face visiting Arsenal at Anfield, as Liverpool look to get their Premier League campaign back on track, after a setback against West Ham in the previous matchday.
I think he is turning in to a beast. So far he is one of the best right back in the world at is age.
