Liverpool fans took to social media to express their shock at rumours linking Nathaniel Clyne with a big money move to Manchester City.
The Reds’ faithful were dealt a rude shock on Thursday morning when reports surfaced claiming that Manchester City were plotting an audacious £35 million bid for star right-back Nathaniel Clyne. The 25-year-old has been a regular campaigner for Liverpool since his £12 million move from Southampton in the summer of 2015.
The England international has been with the Reds for a little over a year and he has already featured in a staggering 64 games which throws light on his stamina, measure of consistency and of course, his importance to this Liverpool team. Hence, the Anfield faithful were understandably dismayed by claims from unreliable sources that cited a potential January move for Clyne.
Let me be blunt on Nathaniel Clyne

While most supporters ridiculed the speculation linking Clyne with a move out of Merseyside, there were a selective few who decided to look at the monetary gains instead. And it’d be fair to say that from then on they became the veritable punching bags for all passionate Reds on social media.
