Roberto Firmino turned the tide in favour of Liverpool, who came back from a goal down to beat Newcastle United 3-1 at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.

The match started in the worst possible fashion for Liverpool, as Jetro Willems scored a thunderbolt of a strike in the seventh minute to hand Newcastle United the lead. But, Liverpool found a way back into the game just ahead of the half hour mark, with Sadio Mane levelling things up.

However, it was the introduction of Roberto Firmino towards the end of the first half that tilted the scales in Liverpool’s favour. The Brazilian played a key role for Mane’s second of the game before supplying the assist with a delicate flick for Mohamed Salah, who made it 3-1 to round off the win for Liverpool. And, Firmino was invariably lauded for a masterclass of a performance.

The fans were also in awe of the sheer contribution from Liverpool’s front trio, with Firmino, Salah and Mane all making their mark on the game.
