Leicester City chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha has issued an update on the future of Arsenal and Manchester United target Youri Tielemans.

Youri Tielemans’ future at Leicester City has been a topic of much debate in media this summer as the Belgian international has entered the final year of his contract with the Foxes.

Tielemans has been with Leicester since 2019 when he arrived from AS Monaco, and has grown into a pivotal player for the club. However, with the team regressing last season, the 25-year-old has decided it is time for him to take the next step in his career as he seeks regular European football.

To that end, Tielemans has not signed an extension with Leicester and has been courted by several top clubs in England and Europe. Arsenal have been linked the strongest with the midfielder, while Manchester United have also been credited with an interest in the 25-year-old Belgian ace.

However, Leicester City chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha has claimed that none of the interested parties have made any official proposal to sign Tielemans as of yet. As quoted by Fabrizio Romano, he said: “It’s nothing. There haven’t been any offers yet. There hasn’t been anything concrete or a proposition yet.”

Tielemans is a proven performer in the Premier League and would be a good signing for any club he joins. Arsenal are in the market for another central midfielder as Mikel Arteta looks to make the switch from a 4-2-3-1 to a 4-3-3 at the Emirates and the Belgian is believed to be one of their top targets.

As for Manchester United, Tielemans could potentially be seen as a replacement for Paul Pogba and an alternative to primary transfer target Frenkie de Jong, who is reluctant to leave Barcelona this summer.

Tielemans, for his part, is reportedly favouring a transfer to Arsenal over any other suitors, including Manchester United. It remains to be seen where the midfielder ends up. There could be a possibility that he stays at the King Power Stadium before leaving next summer as a free agent. But at the moment, there have been no approaches made to Leicester for his signing.
