Jurgen Klopp has suggested Divock Origi and Takumi Minamino could leave Liverpool when the summer transfer window opens.

Liverpool have a deep squad, and considering how well the regulars play, it gets difficult for some fringe players to get minutes. For most of the season, the Reds have been in a rampant form, which has left the likes of Takumi Minamino and Divock Origi scrapping for minutes in cup competitions or cameos in bigger games.

Others could exit Anfield in the summer, but the attacking duo is certainly leading the queue of players who could depart. Minamino has interest from England and abroad, with Sevilla among those keen on signing him.

Meanwhile, Origi was the subject of interest from West Ham in January, although now AC Milan are making onward movements in approaching the player’s camp. The Belgian will leave on a free transfer, but Liverpool could get a decent transfer fee for the Japanese international.

Both have the qualities and capabilities to keep playing in the Premier League. In Minamino’s case, Liverpool will certainly be hoping a domestic outfit makes an offer, as they could be able to exact good value for the forward here.

Speaking about Origi and Minamino, as quoted by Goal, Klopp conceded the attacking duo could leave Liverpool in the close season.

Klopp said, “It is incredibly hard for [Origi] and for me as well [for him not to play] because it is really tough these kind of things. Taki Minamino is in an incredible moment. It is unlikely with the size of the squad that we now stay exactly like this together.”

“For sure, some of the players do not play often enough for their own understanding, and we will see what will come in the summer and find solutions for those situations. But the core of the group has to stay together. There is no doubt about that.”

Where the Belgian and Japanese forward continue their careers is a question the summer transfer window will answer. While Origi is a definite summer departure, Minamino’s last hopes of having a future with Liverpool are fading. The Reds are already looking for a new player in a similar position.

Considering the quality on board at the club and their attacking lineup, one cannot blame Klopp for not providing optimal opportunities to these two players, who would otherwise thrive with regular game time. An intriguing summer beckons the Liverpool duo.
