Gary Neville has predicted Mohamed Salah to join either Barcelona or Real Madrid, claiming there are certain things you have to experience.

Speaking on Sky Sports’ Overlap forum, as quoted by Liverpool Echo, Gary Neville has made an interesting prediction about Mohamed Salah. The Manchester United legend has claimed that the Liverpool talisman will join Barcelona or Real Madrid one day, as he has to go out and experience it.

Mohamed Salah has been nothing short of phenomenal since joining Liverpool from AS Roma in the summer of 2017. Over the last four years, he has been by far the most influential player for the Reds, sometimes winning games all on his own.

At the start of the 2021/22 season, the 29-year-old appears to be playing the best football of his career, with very few playing better than him at the moment. So far this season, Salah has 10 goals and four assists in 10 appearances to show for his efforts.

Such consistently world class displays have prompted many to say that he is currently the best player in the world and even a contender to win the Ballon d’Or. And now, Gary Neville has made an interesting claim about the Liverpool talisman, predicting him to join Real Madrid or Barcelona, and that he will not end his career at Liverpool.

Speaking on Sky Sports’ Overlap forum (h/t Liverpool Echo), Neville said, “I don’t think he will stay at Liverpool for the rest of his career. It’s my personal view. It’s always been that view but I could be wrong. The Premier League would be weaker if he left. I just think you look at someone like Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham, Kylian Mbappe, it’s not all about the money.”

“There’s a project and there’s something they have to achieve in their lives. They have to play at certain clubs, they have to go and experience certain things. I think Salah’s got to experience Real Madrid, the Bernabeu. Real Madrid are going to come back, by the way.”

“I know it’s not great at the moment at Barcelona and Madrid but Salah is similar to those I’ve just mentioned, I think he has to have that on his CV at the end of his career. I think he’s done an unbelievable job at Liverpool. I’ve just always felt he wants a Paris, a Real Madrid, a Barcelona and I think he’ll go and get it. But I might be wrong!”

Real Madrid and Barcelona have been linked with Salah of late once again, and going by his displays for Liverpool, it will not be too surprising to see the two clubs make their move for him in the summer transfer window. For now, Salah appears to be unstoppable in Liverpool colours.

Wishful thinking from Gary Neville. He probably wished the Man U backline yesterday would go and experience football somewhere else. Ronaldo must realise the sum of the parts of this expensive team doesn’t add up to what some people hold as a view of its individual parts.
Hope Ole gets a very long extension to his contract. Role on next weekend.
