Carlo Ancelotti has revealed that Real Madrid will not sign any more players in the summer transfer window as they begin their pre-season campaign.

Speaking to journalists, as quoted by ESPN, Carlo Ancelotti has reaffirmed that Real Madrid will not make any further signings in the summer transfer window. The Italian tactician has insisted he has his desired squad at his disposal while revealing some interesting ideas about the centre-forward berth.

Real Madrid enjoyed an excellent 2021/22 season as they won the Spanish Super Cup midway through the campaign before winning two big trophies in the latter stages. Los Blancos scaled the summit of La Liga, comfortably clinching the league title with several games to spare.

The cherry on top was the UEFA Champions League triumph for a record-extending 14th time, with Real Madrid beating Liverpool in a captivating finale. But we have seen time and again that defending titles is a lot harder than winning them as challengers, and the real test for the Spanish giants will come in the upcoming 2022/23 season.

So the Merengues have been shrewd to wrap up most of their summer transfer business early, bringing in Aurelien Tchouameni and Antonio Rudiger while offloading several unwanted players. A few more players will likely leave Real Madrid on loan deals before the transfer window shuts down, but Carlo Ancelotti has the core of his squad at his disposal.

The Real Madrid manager has now made a fascinating claim, suggesting Real Madrid will not enter the market for another signing this year. In particular, Ancelotti talked about the centre-forward berth, revealing some intriguing ideas he will tinker with in the upcoming season.

The Real Madrid boss said, “I can’t talk about signings… but it’s all done. We won’t sign anyone else. We’re fine as we are. I think we have a lot of options to play in that position Of course Karim is the top one, but we have to take into consideration that it will be a strange season with the World Cup in the middle.”

Ancelotti then revealed why he is not fretting about the apparent lack of backups for Karim Benzema, saying, “My idea is to try to see Eden [Hazard] in that position. With the qualities he has, it can be good for us to have him there… [Marco] Asensio is the same, he did well last season.”

The Real Madrid boss ended with his comments on the upcoming season, adding, “We’re working to put the team in the best condition for the first game of the season. We have new players, we have to adapt them to our system. It’s not easy because last season was an exceptional, extraordinary season, but in our minds, we want to improve.”

The Spanish giants have begun pre-season training and will fly to the USA next week to feature in the Soccer Champions Tour, where they will take on Barcelona, Club America and Juventus. Real Madrid’s pre-season campaign will end with the UEFA Super Cup tie against UEFA Europa League winners Eintracht Frankfurt.
