Roberto Firmino will replace the suspended Darwin Nunez when Liverpool and Manchester United face off at Old Trafford on Monday night.

Liverpool will be eager to register their first win in the Premier League this season when they lock horns with Manchester United at Old Trafford on Monday night. And Jurgen Klopp has a plethora of roster issues hampering his preparations ahead of his team’s latest fixture.

Darwin Nunez is the latest absentee for Liverpool as he serves a three-match suspension after his dismissal against Crystal Palace for a headbutt on Joachim Andersen. The Uruguayan striker has joined Thiago Alcantara, Diogo Jota, Ibrahima Konate, Caoimhin Kelleher, Calvin Ramsay, Curtis Jones, Joel Matip and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on the sidelines.

But there is some positive news as Roberto Firmino is back in contention after resuming training following his fitness issue. Klopp provided a brief update during his pre-match press conference, speaking about Firmino and Naby Keita.

The Liverpool boss informed the press that Firmino has trained normally, while Keita is back after recovering from an illness. Klopp said, “Bobby trained completely normal, is ready. Naby was ill for a week, last game on the bench, is fully in training, looks really good. All fine.”

Manchester United vs Liverpool Preview: Probable Lineups, Prediction, Tactics, Team News & Key Stats

Alisson Becker will enter the top ten list of goalkeepers with the most appearances for Liverpool on Monday when he starts between the sticks against Manchester United. The defensive unit in front of him should see one change, with Joe Gomez likely replacing Nathaniel Phillips.

With Matip still unavailable, Gomez will pair up with Virgil van Dijk at the heart of the Liverpool defence. But there are no concerns on the flanks, with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson picking themselves as the two full-backs against Manchester United.

Klopp has a shortage of options in midfield, with Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, Harvey Elliott, Naby Keita and James Milner the only candidates for the three positions. Fabinho will make his 100th Premier League start for Liverpool when he starts alongside Henderson and Elliott against Manchester United.

With Nunez suspended, Firmino is an automatic pick to spearhead the Liverpool attack against Manchester United. Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz will start as the wide attackers, with Fabio Carvalho being the backup offensive option on the bench for Klopp.

Predicted Liverpool XI: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, van Dijk, Robertson; Elliott, Fabinho, Henderson; Salah, Firmino, Diaz
