Turkish businessman Muhsin Bayrak has tabled an offer to Roman Abramovich for Chelsea Football Club.

According to a report from The Guardian, Muhsin Bayrak has confirmed his interest in Chelsea Football Club. It is suggested that he has already tabled an offer to buy the west London outfit, confirming his interest through a representative.

Bayrak had earlier told the Turkish media, “Yes, we definitely confirm. We have forwarded our offer regarding this to them. We are discussing the terms of Chelsea’s purchase with Roman Abramovich’s lawyers. We’re negotiating signatures. We will soon fly the Turkish flag in London.”

The Turkish business magnate became the latest figure to express interest in buying Chelsea Football Club after it was put up for sale by Roman Abramovich amid growing concerns regarding sanctions from the UK government due to his relationship with Vladimir Putin.

Muhsin Bayrak is a businessman who currently serves as the chairman of AB construction group. He has also ventured into several other sectors, including cryptocurrency, tourism and energy. He has a net worth of around £8 billion, which is slightly lower than Abramovich’s £10 billion reported value.

Roman Abramovich is looking to sell Chelsea as quickly as possible, as the UK government continues investigations of his misdoings. A British MP has already urged the government to seize the Russian’s assets, but UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has recently confirmed that the procedure may take a little time.

In the event of his assets getting seized by the government, it appears unlikely that Abramovich will be able to sell Chelsea. It could open up a multitude of other problems for the football club.

Recent reports suggest the Russian oligarch is looking for as much as £4 billion for Chelsea Football Club. However, experts suggest it would be very difficult for him to get anything above £2 billion.

While the exact valuation of Muhsin Bayrak’s bid remains unclear, he is certain to face stiff competition in the race to sign the Chelsea Football Club. Former UFC World Champion Conor McGregor has publicly declared his desire to make an offer, while American investor Todd Boehly, in partnership with Swiss business Hansjorg Wyss, are believed to be in pole position to sign the west London outfit.
