Real Madrid are reportedly considering making a move for RCD Espanyol forward Javi Puado in the upcoming summer transfer window.

According to Fichajes, Real Madrid are eyeing a summer swoop for RCD Espanyol and Spain attacker Javi Puado in the summer transfer window to strengthen their attacking unit.

Puado is a product of the Espanyol youth academy and made his first-team debut for the club in 2018. He has since made 82 appearances for the Catalan club, scoring 18 goals and registering 11 assists in the process.

A left-winger by trade, the Spaniard can play in a multitude of positions in the final third. He has been deployed on the opposite flank and as an auxiliary striker in the ongoing campaign. Puado has also played as a proper centre-forward in the past. His tally of four goals and an assist from 20 games does not stand out, but his potential has piqued the interest of Real Madrid.

The Merengues are set to change things up in their attacking unit next summer. Kylian Mbappe is expected to arrive on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain, while there are expected to be several exits too. Gareth Bale is set to depart as his contract runs out at the end of the season, while Eden Hazard could also leave after his never-ending struggles.

In addition, there have been rumours that Real Madrid might loan out Rodrygo Goes to help his development. And with Lucas Vazquez seen as an option at right-back, Los Blancos could do with adding more depth to their attacking department in the summer transfer window.

Puado, to that end, has now emerged as a potential target for the La Liga leaders. The 23-year-old has some exposure in La Liga and has impressed for the Spanish youth national teams in his career.

A versatile operator, Puado can be an option for Carlo Ancelotti in various positions, which could come in handy, considering both Luka Jovic and Mariano Diaz could also be shown the exit doors at Real Madrid.

However, the Spaniard signed a new contract with Espanyol last year, which runs until 2025. So, it will be interesting to see if Los Blancos are willing to go after the 23-year-old Puado in the upcoming transfer window or decide to explore other alternatives.
