Juventus have reportedly entered the chase for Portuguese midfielder Ruben Neves, who could leave Wolves in the summer, with Manchester United also interested.

According to Calciomercato, Juventus are ready to rival Premier League sides for Portuguese midfielder Ruben Neves, who is tipped to leave Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer transfer window. Manchester United are among those interested, alongside several other clubs.

Neves has made a significant mark in the Premier League during his stint with Wolverhampton Wanderers. He has been with the Midlands club since their days in the Championship, with his expertise in midfield playing a major role in keeping them afloat in the top flight.

While much of the credit for Wolves’ rise this term goes to Bruno Lage for improving the team, Neves has been a tremendous presence in their midfield. His rise in the Premier League have caught the attention of top teams, angling a move in the summer.

Manchester United are among those interested in the midfielder, with Neves earmarked to improve the team for the long-term future. Current options Scott McTominay, Fred, and Nemanja Matic have regressed the team’s midfield displays this season, which has prompted the club to look for a new option in the area.

Neves certainly improves their chances of challenging for the title next term, although there is competition from Premier League rivals Arsenal, who are also interested in the Portuguese. The Gunners are essentially looking at the Wolves star as a possible replacement for Granit Xhaka, who could leave the club next summer.

Now, Juventus have entered the chase for the midfielder, as they look for a fresh option in the position. They did sign Denis Zakaria in January, although the Swiss star was seen more as a replacement for Rodrigo Bentancur, who joined Tottenham in a permanent transfer.

Neves is understandably an option looked at by Juventus to seek more control of the game. The Portugal international’s style could enable the team to have more possession and bring about a balance to their attacking third. These are factors the Bianconeri have lacked this season, that have seemingly ended any hopes of a title challenge.

Wolves still remain in the driving seat when negotiating a fee for their star midfielder. Neves will have two years left on his contract in the summer, which could dictate his price, with the Midland club wanting a reported £40 million for his services.

It remains to be seen if Juventus could afford such a price tag considering their financial troubles and the recent outlay on Dusan Vlahovic. Meanwhile, Manchester United may certainly be ready with their chequebook for the fee demanded for Neves, as could be other Premier League sides.
