Tottenham are keen on signing French teenager Mamadou Coulibaly on a free transfer in the summer, as Fabio Paratici looks to add more youth to the roster.

According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham are interested in signing Mamadou Coulibaly on a free transfer in the summer. The teenager’s contract with AS Monaco expires at the end of the season, although the French giants are keen on renewing his deal amid interest from significant clubs.

Tottenham still have more work with their squad rebuild, as manager Antonio Conte and director Fabio Paratici are eager to stamp their authority. Spurs got several of their unwanted stars out of the door in January, and they hope to bring more exciting talents to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the summer.

While some players left the club, Tottenham brought in key reinforcements in midfield and the wide attacking area. Dejan Kulusevski’s move from Juventus caught the eye of many, as Paratici looks to weave his magic with a player he knows well from his days in Turin.

Similarly, they signed Juventus midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur on a permanent transfer, with the Tottenham director proving to be influential with his connections. Paratici hopes to use his charm in the summer window as the Lilywhites aim to sign Mamadou Coulibaly from Monaco.

The untested and inexperienced 17-year-old is considered a solid prospect for the future, and Spurs wish to take advantage of his contractual situation. At Juventus, Paratici came to be known for bringing in quality players cheaply, with Arturo Vidal’s cut-price move from Bayer Leverkusen and Paul Pogba’s Bosman deal from Manchester United prime examples of his work.

The Italian director and Conte have identified similar talents in the current markets as Coulibaly runs his contract down at Monaco. The French giants are still pushing to extend his stay by offering a new deal, although Spurs hope to convince the teenage midfield sensation to complete a move to north London.

Although Coulibaly is yet to play for Monaco at the senior level, the 17-year-old is regarded as the future of French football. Conte’s reputation with developing youngsters is not quite as good, although the Italian tactician would like to change that at a top-level club like Tottenham.

As we approach the summer window, there could be even more clubs queuing up to secure the services of the teenager, who might look to wait before accepting any offers currently on the table. So, Tottenham will need to move swiftly if they are to sign the teenage prodigy from Monaco.
