Everton could launch an attempt to sign Chelsea forward Armando Broja in the summer, with Frank Lampard likely to push for the youngster.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, journalist Dean Jones has claimed that Everton manager Frank Lampard is set to make a push for the signing of Chelsea starlet Armando Broja, who is impressing on loan at Southampton.

Broja came through the ranks at Chelsea and made a solid impression throughout his youth career. He made his senior debut in March 2020 under then-manager Frank Lampard, which remains his only appearance for the club. The 20-year-old spent the 2020/21 campaign on loan at Vitesse Arnhem and produced a decent tally of 11 goals in 34 matches.

Back at Chelsea in the summer, the Albanian international was shipped off to Southampton, where he has impressed, racking up seven goals in 21 matches across all competitions while registering a solitary assist.

Broja’s progress over the past eighteen months has led to interest from various clubs in England. Southampton are interested in making his transfer permanent for a fee of £25 million while Leeds United have also been linked. Now, Everton, too, have entered the race to sign the 20-year-old striker, following the appointment of Frank Lampard as their manager.

“Broja, there’s no way Lampard doesn’t come into that conversation straight away. He knows him, think he gave him his debut. If he was genuinely available, Lampard would look in his direction,” Dean Jones told GIVEMESPORT.

Everton are a bit thin in options in the centre-forward position. The Toffees are over-reliant on Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison for goals and have struggled when either of them has been unavailable. The Merseysiders brought in Salomon Rondon during the summer, but the Venezuelan has hardly made a notable impact.

It has left Everton scouring the market for reinforcements in the No. 9 slot, especially with top clubs lining up a summer move for Calvert-Lewin. Broja, to that end, has emerged as an option on the Toffees’ radar, with Lampard likely to make a play for him, having handed the youngster his senior debut at Chelsea.

But, Broja’s contract with the Blues runs until the summer of 2026, meaning it might take a sizable sum for Everton or any other club to sign him up later this year.
