La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid are reportedly weighing up the prospect of signing 25-year-old Spanish left-back Angelino from RB Leipzig.

According to a report by Spanish publication ABC, Angelino is the subject of interest from Real Madrid over a possible move in the summer transfer window. The 25-year-old left-back is valued at around €30 million by Bundesliga giants RB Leipzig.

Angelino has found stability in his career since joining RB Leipzig from Manchester City. The Spaniard had struggled for game-time in his two stints with the Premier League heavyweights but has established himself as one of the best left-backs in the Bundesliga during his time with Leipzig.

To date, the 25-year-old has made 80 appearances for Die Roten Bullen, chipping in with nine goals and 23 assists in the process. Angelino’s progress in the last two years has not gone unnoticed, with some of the biggest clubs in Europe, including Real Madrid, setting their sights on him.

Real Madrid will have to enter the transfer market for a left-back in the summer transfer window, as Marcelo will leave the club as a free agent at the end of the ongoing season. The Real Madrid captain has been linked with a gamut of Brazilian clubs, including Cruzeiro, recently bought by Ronaldo.

In addition to Marcelo, Miguel Gutierrez also faces an uncertain future at Real Madrid after becoming a fringe player under Carlo Ancelotti. While Gutierrez remains highly rated, his status as a bit-part player does not bode well for him, leaving Ferland Mendy as the only recognised left-back at Ancelotti’s disposal.

The Spanish giants are thus considering signing a left-back in the summer transfer window, with Angelino emerging as an option. Signing the 25-year-old will not cost Real Madrid a lot either, with Bundesliga giants RB Leipzig likely to demand around €30 million to part with him in the summer.

Apart from Angelino, Sergio Reguilon and Jose Gaya are also on Real Madrid’s radar, with Reguilon ranking the highest on their priority list. But with the €40 million purchase option on the Tottenham defender expiring in June, Real Madrid’s sights could turn towards securing a €30 million deal for Angelino.

Why would Madrid waste money on another left back when we have Miguel G.? Why is Ancelotti not giving these academy graduates chance…? It’s crazy… let them shot down the academy for it doesn’t make sense#HalaMadrid
