La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid have reportedly stepped up their efforts to sign 15-year-old Brazilian wonderkid Endrick from Palmeiras.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Endrick has become a key target for Real Madrid. The La Liga heavyweights are intensifying their efforts to sign the 15-year-old Brazilian wonderkid and hope to have a deal in place with Palmeiras by the summer transfer window.

Real Madrid had a quiet January transfer window, as is usually the case with them. The Spanish giants do not prefer entering the market for a player midway through the season unless there is an urgent need for one, meaning they have been concentrating all their efforts towards having their plans for the summer transfer window in place.

Kylian Mbappe is reportedly Real Madrid’s priority target, and recent reports have claimed that they have reached a pre-contract agreement to sign the French international. The Merengues also have their youth setup in mind, with a certain 15-year-old Brazilian wonderkid on their radar.

Endrick has recently emerged as a target for the most high profile clubs in Europe, Real Madrid being one of them. Widely regarded as one of the most precocious talents in South America, the teenage prodigy has popped up on the radars of the European bigwigs due to his exploits in age-group football in Brazil.

The 15-year-old has a whopping tally of scoring 169 goals in 175 official appearances for Palmeiras at different levels. Most recently, Endrick burst onto the limelight due to his performances at Copinha, considered one of the most prestigious Under-20 tournaments in world football.

The Brazilian whizkid ended the competition as its Most Valuable Player while also scoring the goal of the tournament. Suffice to say, every marquee name in Europe is already vying for his signature, even though he can only join a club after he has turned 18. But that has not stopped Real Madrid from laying down the groundwork to secure his services.

The Spanish giants are renowned for constantly foraying into the Brazilian market, with such an outlook fetching them current first-team regulars like Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo Goes. And Endrick could be Real Madrid’s latest Brazilian addition if he eventually arrives at the Santiago Bernabeu in two years.

While Karim Benzema is in the form of his life, the Frenchman might need to start getting phased out in two years. And if Endrick continues his current rate progress, he could quickly become a first-team regular when he eventually joins Real Madrid. For now, they are hoping to reach an agreement with Palmeiras over a deal for the 15-year-old in the summer transfer window.
