Spanish giants Real Madrid are reportedly tracking the situation of 26-year-old German international Serge Gnabry at Bayern Munich.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Serge Gnabry is the subject of interest from Real Madrid. The La Liga heavyweights are closely monitoring the 26-year-old German international’s situation at Bayern Munich, with talks over a renewal currently stalled.

Serge Gnabry has evolved into a dominant attacker since returning to Germany after leaving Arsenal in August 2016. And it is particularly after arriving at Bayern Munich in 2018 that the player has found stability in his career, establishing himself as one of the best players in the Bundesliga and a mainstay for the German national side.

The 26-year-old has a solid record of 59 goals and 37 assists in 153 appearances for Bayern Munich. But the Bavarian giants are in a spot of bother over Gnabry’s long-term future, as he has entered the final 18 months of his contract, with talks over a renewal stalling of late. The player’s precarious situation has captured the attention of Real Madrid.

Real Madrid’s priority for the summer transfer window is signing Kylian Mbappe, with the French international essentially being a long-term replacement for Gareth Bale. But the Spanish giants are not one to ignore a market opportunity when it presents itself, as was the case with their acquisition of David Alaba on a free transfer last summer.

As fate has turned out, Alaba has become a pivotal figure for Real Madrid this season, forging a solid central defensive partnership with Eder Militao. And Gnabry could be a signing of a similar fashion amid uncertainties surrounding the future of Eden Hazard.

The 26-year-old’s ability to play across the frontline makes him the kind of dynamic player Carlo Ancelotti likes to coach. And the German international could potentially combine superbly with Vinicius Jr. and Kylian Mbappe for years to come in the Real Madrid attack.

Bayern Munich’s preference is to tie Gnabry to a long-term contract, but they believe that he is stalling on renewal talks to enter the market and assess the opportunities that come his way. The Bundesliga champions have already shown that they will not pay exorbitant wages to players and have no qualms about letting them leave for free, as was the case with Alaba before his Real Madrid move.

But Real Madrid cannot harbour hopes of signing Gnabry just yet, with Bayern Munich still looking for a way to secure the 26-year-old German international’s long-term future. This is a brewing transfer saga to keep an eye on in the coming months.

As a Madrid fan, Madrid should stay away from Gnabry …. we have got priorities in attack what we need is defence backups as for the midfield, only one natural backup for casemiro… Ancelotti should step up his ability to bring out the best of these players… And make sure they all play consistently to stay in form and improve that’s what other clubs do. The likes of Odrizola whose on loan, isco, Marcelo, Jesus Vallejo,Bale,Mariano,Vazquez &
    Asensio should be sold Immediately.
