Juventus are reportedly interested in Chelsea midfielder Jorginho, with the Serie A giants eyeing a summer swoop.

According to a recent report from Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus have set their sights on Jorginho. The Chelsea midfielder has emerged as an ideal option for Massimiliano Allegri, who is keen on taking advantage of his contract situation by making a lucrative offer in the summer transfer window.

After freshly acquiring the services of Dusan Vlahovic, Juventus have already set their future plans in motion. One of the major weak points is their midfield unit, with only new signing Manuel Locatelli having somewhat of a secured future in Turin, at least in the coming few years.

Apart from Locatelli, most of the other options have been linked with an exit from the Allianz Stadium – even in the ongoing January transfer window. Rodrigo Bentancur is among the players facing an uncertain future at the club, though the Bianconeri have rebuffed Aston Villa’s latest offer for the Uruguayan international.

Meanwhile, Arthur Melo was linked with a mid-season move to Arsenal. Although the Brazilian is likely to remain at Juventus during the second half of the campaign, he could leave the Serie A club in the summer, leaving Allegri with only a few options at his disposal.

In an attempt to revamp the midfield unit, Juventus are prepared to raid Chelsea for Jorginho next summer. The player is believed to be open to the idea of returning to Italy, with his current deal at Stamford Bridge expiring at the end of next season.

Chelsea themselves have shown great interest in strengthening the depth of their midfield department in recent months. Coach Thomas Tuchel is even eyeing a move for FC Barcelona sensation Frenkie de Jong, who the report mentions could come in as a direct replacement for Jorginho next season.

Regarded as one of the best performing players in world football at the moment, Chelsea will understandably be reluctant to offload Jorginho, especially in the same market in which they are expected to lose a host of key players like Cesar Azpilicueta and Antonio Rudiger, among others.

Therefore, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for the Italian international next summer. Perhaps a lot will depend on how the Bianconeri finish the ongoing campaign, whereas Chelsea will be hoping to replicate their success in Europe during the second half of the campaign.
