Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United are reportedly among the clubs interested in Athletic Bilbao starlet Nico Williams.

According to a report from Fichajes, Nico Williams is seemingly becoming one of the most in-demand players in La Liga. The 19-year-old Athletic Bilbao forward is courted by a host of top clubs across Europe, including the Premier League trifecta of Liverpool, Manchester United and the defending champions Manchester City.

The younger brother of Athletic Bilbao talisman, Inaki Williams, Nico has been one of the rising stars in La Liga this term. He has notched up 21 league appearances so far, emerging as an ideal alternative for first-choice wingers in Iker Muniain and Alex Berenguer. Although he has failed to be involved in a single goal so far, the Spanish prodigy has made a solid impression with his pace and dynamism in the final third.

Nico Williams’s rapid rise to prominence has not gone unnoticed, with Liverpool among the clubs interested in securing his services. It is no secret that the Merseyside giants are in the market for a new attacker in January, as they brace themselves for life without Divock Origi.

The Belgian has been linked with a move away from Anfield, amid interest from Burnley. Jurgen Klopp also lacks quality backup for star player Mohamed Salah, whose contract situation at Liverpool remains unresolved.

Manchester United are another potential destination for young Williams. The Red Devils are expected to part ways with Anthony Martial this month, with the player reportedly prepared to join Juventus. Although the deal is yet to be finalised, Williams could prove to be an ideal long-term replacement, not just for Martial but other options as well, including the underperforming Jadon Sancho.

However, both Manchester United and Liverpool are set to face stiff competition from Manchester City in the pursuit of the Athletic Bilbao starlet. The reigning champions are fresh from losing Ferran Torres to Barcelona, and it is only natural that Pep Guardiola is looking to reinforce the attacking unit.

Williams could be an excellent option given his raw talent and ability in the final third. Many already believe the 19-year-old Spanish prodigy has a higher ceiling than his older brother. So it is no wonder why he has attracted interest not just from Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City but across Europe, even though the youngster is unlikely to leave Athletic Bilbao until summer.
