Manchester United are reportedly in talks with Juventus surrounding a potential January move for Anthony Martial.

According to Fichajes, Juventus are advancing talks with Manchester United over the transfer of Anthony Martial. The forward has emerged as a top target for Massimiliano Allegri, who has asked the the Serie A giants’ board to snap him up in this January transfer window. The two clubs are already locked in negotiations, and the French forward could soon be on his way to Allianz Stadium.

Recent reports had suggested that Martial is keen on moving to Juventus as he looks to seal an exit from Old Trafford. The attacker is hoping to revive his career by moving elsewhere and receiving regular game-time. And it appears Turin is seemingly emerging as the likeliest destination.

Juventus’s pursuit of Martial stems from the recent injury of Federico Chiesa. The Italian international has been ruled out for a considerable period after picking up an ACL injury. It should serve as a massive blow for Allegri, who is already out of reliable options in the attacking third, especially amid the uncertainties surrounding the future of Aaron Ramsey and Dejan Kulusevski.

Martial might not be the most accomplished attacker in Europe. But after falling behind the likes of Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Mason Greenwood in the pecking order, the Frenchman has nothing to lose, as he looks to redeem himself away from Manchester United.

At Juventus, the former AS Monaco forward will have the opportunity to become the club’s first-choice attacker, alongside Paulo Dybala and Alvaro Morata. With regular game-time, he will have the chance to get back to his old self and potentially sneak into the French squad for the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Meanwhile, Manchester United themselves won’t be averse to releasing Martial as it will free up a sizable chunk of their wage books. It should also pave the way for the club to add new fresh faces in the January transfer window.

The Red Devils have recently registered interest in Athletic Bilbao’s rising star Nico Williams, although it remains to be seen whether the youngster is made available this month. As for Martial, a loan move to Juventus could be on the horizon, with the Serie A giants keen on bringing in an attacking reinforcement.
