Barcelona and Real Madrid are reportedly among the clubs keen on signing 15-year-old Spanish prodigy Alejandro Monserrate from Real Zaragoza.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Defensa Central, Barcelona and Real Madrid are embroiled in a transfer tussle to sign Alejandro Monserrate. Better known as Jano, the 15-year-old Real Zaragoza wonderkid is also a target for several other European bigwigs, including AS Roma.

Alejandro Monserrate is widely regarded as one of the most promising young players in Spain at the moment, having stormed through age-group football. Despite being only 15 years old, the Spanish whizkid is already playing for Real Zaragoza’s Juvenil outfit. So it is hardly surprising that some of the biggest clubs in Europe have set their sights on him.

Also known as Jano, the 15-year-old is a budding playmaker who possesses incredible vision while also having an eye for a goal. The teenage prospect has captured the attention of some of the best scouts in Spain, with exploits for the Real Zaragoza age-group teams getting noticed by several European bigwigs, including Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Barcelona and Real Madrid are renowned for being constantly on the lookout for the brightest young talents in Spain and beyond. Such an outlook has fetched the two biggest clubs in Spain some of their current first-team mainstays.

Gavi and Nico Gonzalez are the latest whizkids at Barcelona to join established young stars like Pedri and Ansu Fati in the first-team squad. Meanwhile, Real Madrid’s first team boasts prodigious players like Rodrygo Goes and Vinicius Jr.

Both Barcelona and Real Madrid have recently been linked with many common targets, including 15-year-old Brazilian wonderkid Endrick. And the two La Liga powerhouses could soon be locking horns in the transfer market to secure the services of Jano.

In addition to Barcelona and Real Madrid, Alejandro Monserrate is also a target for AS Roma. The Serie A giants have blooded in several prodigies of late, like Ebrima Darboe and Real Madrid target Felix Afena-Gyan. AS Roma, Barcelona, and Real Madrid have all had scouts in attendance to watch Jano in action, and they will continue closely monitoring the 15-year-old Spanish prodigy with a view to land him in due course.
