Arsenal and West Ham are among the clubs interested in the services of Eintracht Frankfurt wizard Filip Kostic.

According to Calciomercato, Filip Kostic is seemingly becoming one of the most in-demand players in Europe, with Eintracht Frankfurt bracing themselves for a real battle to keep hold of the services of the key attacker. Arsenal and West Ham are involved in the long list of clubs prepared to make a move for the wide player, as they look to prise him away from the Bundesliga.

Regarded as one of the best players in the league, Kostic has reinvented himself with his new role at left wing-back. Since the start of the 2018/19 campaign, the former HSV winger has registered just one short of 50 assists in the Bundesliga, playing a vital role behind Frankfurt’s rapid rise to prominence.

What makes the Serbian such an effective outlet on the left is his ability to find the target with his crosses. Kostic is one of the best crossers in all of Europe. His ability to deliver the killer ball from the left flank was part of the reason behind the rise of several star forwards in the recent past, including Sebastien Haller, Luka Jovic,  Andre Silva and most recently, Rafael Santos Borre.

Kostic’s performances have not gone unnoticed, with Tottenham linked with a January swoop for the Frankfurt winger. And it appears the Premier League giants are set to face stiff competition from their London rivals Arsenal and West Ham in the pursuit of the 29-year-old.

West Ham, in particular, are in the market for a new full-back that can offer competition for Arthur Masuaku, especially after Aaron Cresswell’s injury blow. Having missed out on the signing of Lucas Digne, who has recently joined Aston Villa, David Moyes has set his sights on Kostic, believing he can not only offer depth at left-back but also provide more ammunition in attack.

As for Arsenal, their pursuit of the Bundesliga ace stems from the uncertainty surrounding the overall depth at left-back. After a promising start, Nuno Tavares appears to have fallen out of favour in recent weeks, whereas Sead Kolasinac is reportedly a target for Marseille.

It accentuates the need for someone like Kostic, as the Serbian can be a direct upgrade over Tavares and offer Mikel Arteta much more tactical flexibility. However, the likelihood of a January exit from Frankfurt remains slim, with the Eagles keen on finishing the season inside the top four and securing Champions League football next season.
