West Ham United have reportedly received a boost in their pursuit of Andrea Belotti, with David Moyes eyeing the striker for a Bosman move.

According to Westhamfans.org, West Ham United are growing serious about signing Andrea Belotti on a free transfer in the summer window. The 28-year-old Italian striker’s recent contractual situation has provided West Ham with a boost in their pursuit.

David Moyes intends to sign a quality striker more as a replacement for former forward Sebastian Haller, who left a year ago to join Ajax. While the French striker has flourished in Netherlands, West Ham are still not close to bringing in a viable player in his place.

There us also the glaring need to bring in a new front-man as competition for incumbent Michail Antonio, who has been the glowing star of his team. With the Jamaican international performing admirably well, there is a need to bring in an additional option to strengthen the West Ham squad.

There is no indication from the Hammers how much they might be willing to spend on a quality strikers. However, from some of the links going around, it seems Moyes could be eyeing a bargain option.

One of the players mentioned in that regard is Andrea Belotti, a free agent in the summer after refusing to extend his deal with Torino. Despite being offered a new contract repeatedly, the Italian international, who won the UEFA Euro 2020 with the Azzurri, seems intent on leaving in the summer on a Bosman move, which has attracted widespread interest from many major clubs.

AC Milan were touted as a possible destination, but interest from the Premier League and other clubs from Europe has been intense and serious. It does seem like Belotti might move out of Italy, with England a solid and lucrative option for the striker.

The UEFA Euro 2020 winner was also linked with Newcastle United and Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal. However, Belotti has reportedly rejected the advances from both the clubs, reportedly despite the contract offers being lucrativ.

Rejecting those offers have created stories regarding Belotti’s aversion towards the Saudi Arabian ownership and maybe wants to stay away due to their alleged human rights problems. Alternatively, many believe Belotti might be snubbing those offers to play at a club with better sporting ambitions.

West Ham, who are vying for Champions League places this term, could put themselves in contention as the perfect club for the 28-year-old Italian striker. With the Hammers needing a striker who could become a quality option upfront, Belotti might be a bargain choice.

West Ham could look to thrash out a Bosman move in the summer and get him to London next season. It remains to be seen if West Ham are truly the club that could match Belotti’s ambitions and lure him into playing in the Premier League next term.
