Liverpool are reportedly prepared to offer €30 million to sign Toni Kroos from Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Catalan outlet El Nacional, Toni Kroos has become a key target for Liverpool over a possible move in the summer transfer window. The Reds have readied a €30 million bid to prise the veteran German midfielder away from Real Madrid.

Toni Kroos will go down in history as one of the best playmakers of his generation. The 32-year-old has gone from strength to strength since joining Real Madrid from Bayern Munich in July 2014 and has been integral to the Merengues’ success in the last seven and a half years.

The German midfielder has provided a remarkable 83 assists in 340 appearances for Real Madrid to date, even chipping in with 25 goals along the way. But after entering the final 18 months of his contract with the Spanish club, Kroos faces an uncertain future at the Santiago Bernabeu, which has captured the attention of Liverpool.

While Kroos is well into his thirties and approaching the final phase of his storied career, he could be a solid short-term solution for Liverpool. The Real Madrid playmaker will add a different dimension to the Merseyside club’s gameplay as they currently heavily rely on full-backs Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson for creativity.

Jurgen Klopp largely utilises the three midfielders in his 4-3-3 setup as disruptors, especially when Thiago Alcantara is unavailable. Kroos would offer something different from midfield and could be a superb addition to Liverpool’s first-team squad, making him an appealing target for Klopp heading into the summer transfer window.

Initial reports claimed that Kroos might not favour joining Liverpool as he is keen on ending his career at Real Madrid. But according to El Nacional, the 32-year-old might be more receptive to a move to Liverpool, with Real Madrid also open to cashing in on him. This development has prompted the Reds to prepare a €30 million offer.

The Premier League heavyweights are optimistic about having their €30 million bid accepted by Real Madrid in the summer. However, with Kroos recently insisting once again that he intends to stay put at Real Madrid till he hangs up his boots, Liverpool could have their task cut out despite the claims from El Nacional.
