Antonio Conte is reportedly eager for a reunion with Inter Milan’s attacking midfielder Stefano Sensi in January.

According to 90 min, Tottenham are interested in making a loan move for Stefano Sensi from Inter Milan this month, with Antonio Conte eyeing key creative reinforcements.

Stefano Sensi is currently experiencing a strange situation at Inter Milan under Simone Inzaghi. After playing a useful role last season in the club’s title-winning campaign, he has found himself on the periphery this term.

Inzaghi may not feel the need to suddenly re-introduce Sensi in his plans, as Inter have risen to the top of the table. Sensi, meanwhile, has only managed around 160 league minutes this term, spread across nine appearances. The 26-year-old Italian international seems to be unwanted at the San Siro and could be offloaded either on loan or permanently.

Spurs, currently led by former Inter boss Antonio Conte, are reportedly keen to sign Sensi on a loan deal this month. Tottenham are believed to be in the market for a creative midfielder this window in an attempt to rebuild the midfield unit.

The Lilywhites have already shown a desire to offload Tanguy Ndombele in January, meaning Sensi could be considered as a replacement for the Frenchman.

Ndombele has endured a difficult time since signing for Tottenham from Lyon. He has experienced challenging relationships with all the managers he has played for at the club and has certainly not been able to convince Conte of his qualities. Still not a regular starter, Ndombele being heavily booed by the Spurs supporters against Morecambe may have been the final straw.

Plenty of clubs are chasing his signature, with Roma supposedly one of the clubs in the queue. Meanwhile, Spurs were looking to offer Ndombele in a deal for Lorenzo Pellegrini or Nicolo Zaniolo.

However, if Tottenham successfully offload Ndombele, Conte will certainly want someone reliable to replace him, and Sensi could be that player. Inter are playing much of their football without the 26-year-old and are very much open to getting his wages off their books. It could pave the way for the north Londoners to snap up the midfielder’s services on a cut-price deal.
