Divock Origi could be set to leave Liverpool, with Turkish giants Fenerbahce reportedly preparing a bumper offer for the Belgian forward.

In an interview with LFC Transfer Room, Belgian football journalist Sascha Tavolieri has revealed that Fenerbahce are weighing up a lucrative deal to sign Divock Origi. The Turkish giants are in the market for a top striker in this January transfer window, with the Liverpool striker emerging as the priority target.

Origi was linked with a move away from Anfield in the summer transfer window. But the move broke down as none of his suitors were willing to meet his salary demands. However, that could soon change, with Fenerbahce ready to prepare a bumper contract to lure the Belgian forward to Istanbul this month.

Currently standing fourth in the Turkish Superlig, the Yellow Canaries are prepared to not only meet Origi’s wage demands but also offer him regular game-time. The Liverpool frontman ideally wants to remain in the Premier League but could be swayed into joining the Turkish club if they manage to put together such an offer.

About a year ago, Fenerbahce made headlines by reaching an agreement with Arsenal for the services of Mesut Ozil. The German superstar joined the club on a free transfer and has since notched up 31 competitive appearances, even captaining the side in the Superlig this term.

The club is now hoping to land a similar deal with Origi, who has made 167 appearances for Liverpool since arriving at Anfield in 2014. The forward’s current contract at the club expires at the end of the season, so he will likely be available for a cut-price fee in January. In fact, Liverpool are reportedly looking for a bargain fee of just £7 million for the Belgian foward amid links with Newcastle United.

But that only enables other clubs to join the pursuit of the 26-year-old and give Fenerbahce a run for their money. In addition to the Turkish giants and Newcastle United, the Liverpool striker has emerged as a target for several Serie A outfits, including Juventus.

Liverpool have already started their search for a potential replacement for Origi. They are among the clubs monitoring the progress of Nantes forward Randal Kolo Muani, while Jurgen Klopp is also keen on landing Arnaut Danjuma, even though it is unlikely that Villarreal will offload the Dutchman this month.
