Premier League interest in Arsenal target Bruno Guimaraes is growing, with bids expected to come in for the Brazilian in the current window.

According to the Evening Standard, Everton and Newcastle United have joined Arsenal in the race for Bruno Guimaraes. Lyon are demanding at least £40 million for their highly-rated midfielder, who could be on the move this month.

Bruno Guimaraes has seen his stock rise after consistent performances with Lyon over the last few years. The midfielder, part of the Brazilian side that won the Olympic Gold Medal in 2021, has become a key part of the French outfit and naturally has attracted the attention of some of the top clubs.

Interest from England is particularly rife, with many sides keen on snapping up the 24-year-old. In the final weeks of the summer window, Arsenal were reportedly looking into the possibility of signing him as a replacement for Granit Xhaka, who was expected to join Roma, which never materialised.

With Xhaka deciding to stay and sign a new contract, the Gunners cooled off their pursuit, although a new opening for a midfielder has emerged at the Emirates. Ainsley Maitland-Niles is getting closer to moving away with Roma in the hot seat to sign him, while Mohamed Elneny could also be on the move in the summer.

Arsenal have Albert Sambi Lokonga at their disposal, along with Thomas Partey, but are targetting Guimaraes to complete their midfield setup. However, they have competition from cash-rich Newcastle United and Everton, with both clubs desperate to bring in quality reinforcements.

The Magpies are in the thick of a relegation battle and need quality additions across all areas of the pitch. Having already agreed on a move for Kieran Trippier from Atletico Madrid, they have sights on a central defender and central midfielder, with Isaac Hayden sidelined for an extended period, leading to links with several players, including Guimaraes.

Everton are also considered among those interested, with Rafael Benitez keen to bolster his squad with quality options in January. They have made defensive signings in Vitaliy Mykolenko and Nathan Patterson already. But the manager might need to sign someone in central midfield, where they have been lacking at times this term.

Guimaraes might consider these many options if a bid came through before the end of the month, while Lyon could be open to a sale due to their financial situation. Arsenal could be the more attractive option of the three clubs for the Brazilian given their form and the direction they are headed in under Mikel Arteta.
