Real Madrid are reportedly tracking the progress of Santos FC’s 17-year-old Brazilian attacking sensation Angelo Gabriel.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Angelo Gabriel is the subject of interest from Real Madrid over a possible move in a future transfer window. The Spanish giants have been closely monitoring the progress of the 17-year-old Santos FC attacking sensation for some time.

Angelo Gabriel is widely regarded as one of the best young prospects in Brazil, having been a regular for Santos FC despite still being in his teens. The 17-year-old has been with the Brazilian giants since joining their youth setup in 2015. And just five years later, he made his first-team debut for the Alvinegro, aged 15 years, ten months and four days.

As a result, Gabriel became the second-youngest ever player to debut for the club after Coutinho. To date, the 17-year-old has made 51 appearances for Santos. And while his tally of one goal and one assist might not be too impressive, the teenage prodigy still seems to have made enough of an impression to capture the attention of Real Madrid.

The Spanish giants are renowned for their forays into the South American market, and in particular Brazil, for the most promising young talents over the years. This outlook has fetched them several first-team stalwarts. And currently, Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo Goes are two of the success stories for Real Madrid from their recent ventures into the Brazilian market.

In recent weeks, the La Liga heavyweights have continued to be linked with several Brazilian prospects, including Matheus Nascimento. A couple of Santos FC attacking sensations have also popped up on Real Madrid’s radar, with Weslley Patati and Gabriel Pirani linked with them.

Angelo Gabriel has emerged as the latest Brazilian prospect identified as a potential youth reinforcement by Real Madrid. However, with the 17-year-old already getting a taste of playing regular first-team football with Santos FC, it is unclear if he will be open to playing for Real Madrid Castilla.

The report does not explicitly say that Real Madrid will assign him to the Castilla side. However, with Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo meeting the same fate immediately after joining the Merengues, it is reasonable to presume that Angelo Gabriel will also have to go through a similar grind before establishing himself as a first-team regular.

In addition, with Real Madrid’s attacking unit being loaded, a clear pathway to the first team might be restricted for the 17-year-old attacking sensation until the squad is trimmed. For now, though, the Brazilian prodigy has emerged on Real Madrid’s radar, and it remains to be seen if he becomes the latest whizkid from his nation to join the Merengues.
