Real Madrid are reportedly willing to shell out a sum of €35 million for AS Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni, who is being lined up to replace Casemiro.

According to a report from El Nacional, Real Madrid have narrowed in on AS Monaco and France international midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni as the ideal man to replace Casemiro in the side and are ready to pay €35 million for his services.

A product of the Bordeaux youth setup, Tchouameni burst out onto the first-team scenes at the club in 2018 and went on to make 37 senior appearances before AS Monaco signed him up in January 2020. Since landing at the Principality club, the 21-year-old has grown into an integral member of the team, racking up 73 appearances in which he has five goals and four assists.

Tchouameni also broke into the French national team earlier this year and played a key role in Les Bleus winning the UEFA Nations League. His rise to prominence over the past couple of years has not gone unnoticed, with top clubs across Europe showing an interest in the young midfielder.

Real Madrid have also shown keenness in securing the services of the 21-year-old Monaco midfielder as they look to refresh their midfield options. Casemiro has been the designated defensive midfielder for Los Blancos for years now, but the Brazilian international has seen his performances dip a little this season.

In addition to that, there have been reports that the former Sao Paulo midfielder has emerged as a transfer target for Paris Saint-Germain, with talks over a summer move believed to be underway already. If he ends up moving on, the Spanish capital club will need to replace the Brazilian destroyer adequately, with Tchouameni having been identified as a target by Carlo Ancelotti & co.

The young midfielder was previously referred to Real Madrid by former manager Zinedine Zidane. While they have been keeping tabs on him ever since, the Merengues are now ready to secure his signing next year. And in order to do so, they are willing to pay a sum of €35 million to AS Monaco, although with his contract running until 2024, the Ligue 1 giants might demand a larger transfer fee.

In addition to that, Real Madrid will also face competition from Tottenham Hotspur, who have also identified the Frenchman as a priority candidate for the summer. The likes of Newcastle United, Chelsea are also interested in Tchouameni, which could lead to a transfer war in the summer window.
