Barcelona have reportedly been offered the opportunity to sign 28-year-old Argentine international Paulo Dybala on a Bosman move next summer.

According to a report by Catalan outlet El Nacional, Paulo Dybala could leave Juventus as a free agent in next summer’s transfer window. Such a development has come as a major boost for Barcelona, who have been offered the chance to secure the services of the 28-year-old Argentine international on a Bosman move.

Paulo Dybala joined Juventus from Palermo in July 2015 and has since come leaps and bounds. While the player has had some forgettable periods during his spell with the Bianconeri, he has largely been a key figure for the Serie A club in the last six years. And after a difficult 2020/21 season, he has regained prominence at the Allianz Stadium this term.

The 28-year-old has eight goals and four assists in 17 appearances across all competitions thus far in the ongoing campaign. However, Dybala’s Juventus future is highly uncertain, putting them in a spot of bother. Such a situation has captured the attention of several big-name clubs across Europe, with Barcelona reportedly being one of the Argentine international’s suitors.

The interest from Barcelona makes sense, considering their shortcomings in the attacking unit. The departures of Lionel Messi and Antoine Griezmann has left the Blaugrana short of quality options in the final third, especially with Memphis Depay’s form tailing off following a strong start to his Barcelona spell.

Recent reports have also claimed that Barcelona could sell Depay next summer. And with Ansu Fati’s fitness issues not dissipating, the Catalan giants need to bring in an attacking reinforcement next summer, despite reaching an agreement to sign Ferran Torres in the January transfer window.

To that end, Dybala is a viable target, especially if he decides to run down his contract with Juventus and depart the Allianz Stadium as a free agent. However, recent reports had claimed that the 28-year-old was not interested in joining Barcelona as he was keen on renewing terms with the Bianconeri. That situation has changed completely now, though.

With Juventus struggling to mount a top-four challenge, let alone contest for the Serie A title, the Argentine international is ready to seek a new adventure next summer. Such a development has handed Barcelona a major boost in his pursuit, with the Blaugrana offered the chance to snap him up on a Bosman move.

Dybala’s arrival has the potential of transforming the Barcelona attack, as he could stitch together a formidable offensive partnership with Fati and Torres next summer. So, it remains to be seen if the 28-year-old Argentine international leaves Juventus as a free agent before joining Barcelona on a Bosman move.
