Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly made contact with Vinicius Junior over a potential transfer away from Real Madrid in the summer of next year.

According to a report from El Nacional, Paris Saint-Germain are making a play to swoop away Vinicius Junior from Real Madrid in the summer transfer window next year and have made an approach to the player’s camp.

Signed from Flamengo in 2018, Vinicius Junior had a slow start to life in Real Madrid but has gradually grown into a regular at the Santiago Bernabeu. However, in the ongoing campaign, the 21-year-old has blossomed into a superstar, leading Los Blancos’ La Liga title charge along with Karim Benzema.

One of the most in-form players in Europe currently, Vinicius has scored 12 goals and set up nine more from 23 matches across all competitions. The Brazilian was named the La Liga Player of the Month for November, and Real Madrid are keen on rewarding his performances and improved status in the squad with a new bumper contract.

Vinicius’ current deal with the Merengues runs till the summer of 2024, but he is currently one of the lowest earners in the squad. Real Madrid are keen on rectifying that and are seeking talks to hand him a new contract. However, the nine-time capped Brazilian international has shown no urgency to enter into discussions.

PSG are now ready to pounce on the opportunity and have established contact with the Real Madrid star’s camp to explore the possibility of a transfer to the French capital in the summer. The Parisian giants have been interested in the 21-year-old for some time now, while they are also plotting to get back at Los Blancos, who seem set to sign Kylian Mbappe on a free transfer at the end of the season.

To that end, PSG are ready to hand the 21-year-old a bumper deal if he chooses to move. The report further adds that Les Parisiens have enlisted the help of Brazilian pair Neymar and Marquinhos to help convince Vinicius to make the switch to Parc des Princes at the end of the season.

With the two teams set to come face to face in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16, it could provide PSG further opportunity to turn Vinicius’ head. As for Real Madrid, they are continuing their efforts to tie the Brazilian to a new contract. And while the player is believed to be keen on staying put in the Spanish capital, PSG’s relentless pursuit and the chance to play with Lionel Messi and Neymar could change his stance.
