Manchester United are among the clubs monitoring the progress of soon-to-be free-agent Warren Bondo.

According to Le10Sport, Manchester United have expressed their desire to sign Warren Bondo. The AS Nancy midfielder is currently one of the most in-demand players in the French market, as his current contract at the club expires at the end of the season.

Multiple clubs, including Bayern Munich, have already approached Bondo regarding a potential move away from Nancy. But it appears the youngster is yet to make a decision over his future, although he is open to embracing the challenge of playing at a bigger club.

It is an interesting development that Manchester United are monitoring closely, as they believe the 18-year-old youngster has what it takes to become a potential asset in the future.

A native of Evry, Bondo has been a part of the Nancy academy since 2018. He enjoyed a swift rise to prominence in the youth competitions, even gaining his promotion to the senior team in 2020. He was even involved in 13 Ligue 2 matches for Nancy during the 2020/21 campaign.

Bondo’s big breakthrough, though, has come in the new season, as the midfielder has 11 Ligue 2 matches for Les Chardons. At the age of just 18, the youngster has made a solid impression with his technical qualities and passing. He is also tactically intelligent and offers a steady presence, mainly in the number six slot.

The fact that the Frenchman can be a calming influence makes him a desirable option for Manchester United, who have lacked quality in the midfield department lately. With Scott McTominay and Fred not offering enough consistency, the Red Devils are expected to make major investments in the midfield unit sooner rather than later.

After the appointment of Ralf Rangnick, United have already been linked with a move for Amadou Haidara. In Warren Bondo, though, they could find themselves a more defensive option, providing competition for McTominay and potentially becoming a long-term replacement for Nemanja Matic.

The 18-year-old doesn’t offer much experience to the table. But he will likely be available on a free transfer next summer, making him a low-risk investment for a club that cannot solely depend on big investments in order to steer out of trouble.
