Italian giants Inter Milan and Juventus are keeping tabs on the situation of Lucas Digne at Everton, with the left-back reportedly unhappy at Goodison Park.

According to Italian outlet Spaziointer, Juventus and Inter Milan have set their sights on Lucas Digne. The left-back is reportedly evaluating his future at Goodison Park after being left unhappy by Rafael Benitez’s style of play.

Lucas Digne has been an important player for Everton under various managers. All his previous bosses at Goodison Park identified and put the left-back’s attacking talents to full use, which yielded positive results over the last few seasons. The Frenchman registered seven assists in 2020-21, making him a lethal presence in the final third.

One look at those statistics this season, and Digne is yet to register a single assist or goal. Much of the blame is placed on Rafael Benitez’s plans for the Frenchman, who has played a rather cautious role under the Spaniard, which has somewhat restricted his contributions in the final third.

The full-back is unhappy with his role and is reportedly on the verge of a fallout with the manager. As a result, Digne is reportedly ready to evaluate his future at Goodison Park and might look for a move elsewhere. Atletico Madrid have been monitoring the full-back, although there’s interest from elsewhere.

The 28-year-old has plenty of admirers, with Italian giants Juventus and Inter Milan interested in bringing the left-back to Serie A. Both clubs have a glaring need to sign a new full-back as an alternative to some of their ageing options.

Inter Milan could lose Ivan Perisic next summer or in January if someone makes a reasonable offer. The Croatian is considering a move to Tottenham, as manager Antonio Conte remains keen on a reunion. A departure in January or the summer could leave the club short of a reliable option on the left, which could prompt a move for Digne.

Juventus are also keeping tabs on the French international as Massimiliano Allegri eyes the Everton star as an alternative to Alex Sandro, who has not been performing as well. The Bianconeri want an experienced player in his prime to occupy the position for the next few years, making Digne a viable target.

Everton might not want to lose Digne, given his importance in the squad. Moreover, they are unlikely to entertain any offers in January, although a good offer in the summer might have them consider their options. As for Digne, he could convince Benitez to integrate him in a more attacking style from left-back probably. He could well prove his point on the pitch and continue his career at Goodison Park for years to come.
