Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly prepared to offer €80 million to secure the services of Manchester City attacker Raheem Sterling.

According to a report by Catalan outlet El Nacional, Raheem Sterling is the subject of interest from Paris Saint-Germain over a move in next summer’s transfer window. The French giants are eyeing the Manchester City attacker as a long-term replacement for Kylian Mbappe and are prepared to pay €80 million to secure his services.

Raheem Sterling has come a long way since joining Manchester City in a controversial move from Liverpool in July 2015. In the last half a dozen years, the English international has been a regular feature for club and country, particularly wielding a major influence for his national side.

However, Sterling’s stature at Manchester City has fallen slightly in the last couple of years, having been rotated aggressively by Pep Guardiola. The ongoing season started slowly for the 27-year-old, but he has improved greatly in recent weeks and has done well to win his spot back.

However, his tally of five goals and three assists in 21 appearances across all competitions still leaves a fair bit to be desired. His struggles have paved the way for rumours pointing towards a possible exit from Manchester City. Several clubs are keen on signing the Englishman in January or next summer, with Paris Saint-Germain being one of the prospective suitors.

Les Parisiens are in a precarious position over the long-term future of Kylian Mbappe. The French international has been heavily linked with a transfer to Real Madrid, with a Bosman move to the Spanish capital deemed highly likely. This situation has kicked PSG into action, with replacement options being identified.

To that end, Sterling has now emerged as a key target for PSG, with an offer being prepared. The report claims that Manchester City will demand €80 million for the Englishman, who has been heavily linked with Barcelona. And the Ligue 1 heavyweights are prepared to offer the requested €80 million to complete a big summer move.

However, according to El Nacional, such a transfer could leave Neymar aggrieved, with the Brazilian attacker favouring a move for Karim Benzema, another player linked with PSG. So, it remains to be seen if the French giants are prepared to draw the ire of Neymar by signing Sterling in an €80 million deal or turn their attention away from the Manchester City star.
