Barcelona have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Joao Felix. The Catalan giants retain their interest in the Atletico Madrid forward.

According to a report by Catalan outlet El Nacional, Barcelona’s interest in Joao Felix has not waned since they failed to sign him in the summer transfer window. The Catalan giants are still keen on the Atletico Madrid forward after being offered the chance to sign him.

Joao Felix was one of the most coveted players in the market back in the summer transfer window of 2019 before he ultimately chose to join Atletico Madrid. However, the transfer has not worked out well for the Portuguese forward, who has struggled to perform consistently for Los Rojiblancos.

To date, the 22-year-old has made 88 appearances for Atletico Madrid, amassing 20 goals and 11 assists in the process. With Diego Simeone failing to get the best out of him, Felix is ready to call it quits at the Wanda Metropolitano at the earliest possible opportunity, with Barcelona set to be given a chance to sign him.

The Catalan giants were heavily linked with Felix in the summer transfer window and attempted to engineer a swap deal involving Antoine Griezmann on deadline day. However, while Griezmann returned to Atletico Madrid on a loan deal, Felix did not join Barcelona, with the reigning La Liga champions keeping hold of the Portuguese international.

Barcelona’s interest in Felix has not waned since then, especially after being given the opportunity to snap him up. The Blaugrana can do with someone like the 22-year-old forward amid their struggles in the final third this season.

With Griezmann highly likely to permanently join Atletico Madrid, Barcelona will try to propose a swap deal again, with Xavi Hernandez giving the green light to complete such a deal. However, it is unclear whether Atletico Madrid will be open to such a transfer, although they are ready to cash in on him.

In addition to Barcelona, Premier League clubs, including Manchester City, are also showing an interest in Felix. So, there is unlikely to be any shortage of suitors in pursuit of the Portuguese forward, and it remains to be seen where he ends up if he leaves Atletico Madrid in the upcoming transfer windows.
